Gym Class Heroes

Working with a band as musically talented and as fun as Gym Class Heroes was an incredible experience. The show was designed by myself and my good friend/fellow lighting designer, Kevin Semagin. The show was brought to us by Concerts Unlimited, a production company in Connecticut.

This show offered an interesting collaboration between two designers, both heavily driven by music. With two lighting  consoles, Kevin and I worked in harmony to create the shows unique looks on the fly. We had a largely conventional concert rig, with many a Par 64 and ACLs. We also had a fair amount of strobes, LEDs, and moving lights to bring out the high energy in many of Gym Class’s more rockin’ numbers. With a broad spectrum of equipment and no rehearsal time – we took on the show for a one night performance and were incredibly pleased with the results.

Having been a fan of their music, I was excited to hear that they enjoyed working with us.
